Setting up an AI agent on Shopify: what to expect
A walkthrough of the technical and operational steps involved — from choosing what to automate to testing before launch.
Most online store teams spend a significant chunk of their week answering the same support questions, manually following up on abandoned carts, and updating order status messages. We build AI agents that take over those tasks — custom-built for your Shopify or WooCommerce stack.
No commitment. 30-minute call. We'll tell you honestly if AI fits your situation.
Every project starts from scratch. We don't deploy the same agent twice — your store's customer data, product catalogue, and support patterns shape how each agent is configured.
Handles FAQs, order status inquiries, return requests, and product questions. Escalates to your team when something genuinely needs a human decision.
Learn more →Surfaces relevant products based on browsing behaviour, purchase history, and inventory status. Works as a sidebar widget, post-purchase module, or email trigger.
Learn more →Automated shipping updates, delivery notifications, and post-purchase follow-ups. Reduces inbound "where's my order?" tickets by handling them before the customer has to ask.
Learn more →Triggers personalised recovery sequences when a cart is abandoned. Timing, message content, and channel (email or on-site) are configurable per your existing setup.
Learn more →Identifies relevant upsell opportunities at checkout and post-purchase. Based on actual purchase data, not generic "people also bought" logic.
Learn more →Not every store needs the same automation. We assess your current workflows, identify where AI adds real value, and help you prioritise. No upsell agenda — just a practical audit.

Every project starts with a free discovery call. We ask about your platform, current pain points, and team structure. If it's a good fit, we scope the project, agree on milestones, and start building.
We learn about your store — platform, ticket volume, biggest bottlenecks. Free, no obligation.
We define what the agent will handle, what it won't, and agree on clear deliverables and pricing.
Custom development and integration with your e-commerce platform, CRM, or helpdesk tools.
Internal testing followed by a staged rollout. Your team gets documentation and a walkthrough session.
Usually yes, but it depends on your specific configuration. During the discovery call we'll ask about your platform version, any custom theme modifications, and which third-party apps you're already using. Integration complexity is one of the main factors that affects both timeline and pricing. We work with Shopify (including Shopify Plus) and WooCommerce natively, and can discuss other platforms on a case-by-case basis.
Some will, some won't. The agents are designed to respond in your brand's tone and handle queries conversationally, but they're not trying to impersonate humans. For complex or sensitive queries, the system escalates to your team. We also recommend being transparent with customers about AI-assisted support — it's both a GDPR consideration and, increasingly, something customers expect.
All projects include a data processing agreement (DPA) as required under GDPR. We work exclusively with EU-based infrastructure where possible, and any third-party services used in the agent stack are documented and disclosed before project kickoff. Customer data is used to run the agent, not to train models or shared outside the project scope.
AI automation tends to have the most visible impact for small teams, precisely because you don't have spare capacity to absorb repetitive work. That said, there's a practical minimum: if you're getting fewer than 30-40 support tickets per week, the ROI calculation gets more complicated. We'll give you our honest assessment on the discovery call — including if we think it's not the right moment for your business.

What AI can reliably handle in e-commerce support, what it can't, and how to set expectations with your team.
Beyond the basic email reminder — how intelligent agents personalise recovery attempts and when that makes a difference.
The discovery call is free and doesn't commit you to anything. We'll look at your current setup, ask a few questions, and tell you honestly what AI automation could realistically do for your store.
